Stratford Independent School District was established in 1901 and is governed by the Administration and an elected 7-member Board of Education. The Administration provides leadership, support and fiscal oversight to ensure the programs are designed to improve the quality of education throughout the school district.
Stratford ISD strives to economize on the cost of education. By offering specialized resources and essential student programs, the Board of Education guarantees that all schools operate with a financial soundness and higher professional standards than would otherwise be possible in a small school district. Students score higher than the state average on the TAKS tests; graduation rates are high and dropout rates are low.
The District also offers a video-teleconferencing classroom which allows institutions of higher education to present classes in real time on the SISD campus.
Stratford have been recognized for scholastic, academic and athletic excellence: Exempleray marks for scholastic quality, state football, basketball and track championships, 35 straight band sweepstakes and state UIL awards.
